Life and career paths

Left to right, top to bottom
A diagram of Filip Mishevski's career: five columns — agency,
freelance, startup, corporations and personal projects — crossed
by two horizontal bands marking the move from Macedonia to the
Netherlands, and two more marking becoming a father. Roles are
plotted as points along the columns and joined by lines showing
                  the moves between them.
The paths, drawn. Open the image on its own for the fine print.

Five columns — agency, freelance, startup, corporations, personal projects — and the lines are the moves between them. The horizontal bands are the things that changed everything: leaving Macedonia for the Netherlands, and becoming a father twice.

How to read it

Branches are new paths. Dots are steps in the journey, on the same path. Diamonds mark the end of a line; triangles are the dangerous bits. Horizontal lines are life events, vertical ones a change of context.

It is not a tidy climb. There is an offer turned down, a jump to full-time freelance described at the time as scary, a hundred job applications and ninety-nine rejections, a point marked it got a bit too much, and a restructuring that nearly ended a job. Those are the parts a list of titles leaves out.
